Learn history for the future
The silk reeling industry, which produces raw silk, was a major industry that promoted the modernization of Japan from the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century, and Okaya was one of the major producers of raw silk in Japan. This is the history of our proud hometown of Okaya.
Our museum works in cooperation with schools in the local community to facilitate learning activities for children related to silkworms and beyond.
